  1. I like it a lot! I think blue would be fine! And I think it should say "Mistborn: Alloy of Law" :)

  2. Looks awesome :). I'd have it say nothing at all.

    ReplyDelete
  3. this is good ... but i think on white and black would be cool. also, as brian said, it should say what its about, maybe in text behind the picture.. two lines 1/. Mistborn: 2/. alloy of law

    `:)

    ReplyDelete
  4. I like the design. I would be more likely to buy this design on white or gray than blue. I also think that it should say "Mistborn: Alloy of Law"

    ReplyDelete
  5. I think it looks cool in the color, but I would prefer it if it didn't have the title

    ReplyDelete
  6. Two thoughts. One, the character pose feels a bit cramped, and it takes a few to decipher the scene. Two, if this is more of a steampunk/western, might it have more contrast if the mist/fog was dust-colored? Might contrast with the blue arc better that way, too.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I like it, I would dark blue if you go with blue. I would just put Alloy of Law under the image.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I love it! Blue always works. lol. Perhaps gray? or a grayish bluish? I think it should say "Alloy of Law" or nothing. Or maybe Mistborn...but I think "Alloy of Law" would be best.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I like the design just as it is. I would not put on the title unless it was small and out of the way. I also like the gray background, or maybe white.

    ReplyDelete
  10. The design is AWESOME! My only preference (which you probably already have in mind) is that only the character and smoke is printed. I like how it looks with the gray but I think it would look cool on blue as well. If you can get the text looking cool I wouldn't mind it, but if it is just going to be a standard font I say leave it off.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I think it would look good on a gray or like a sage green. The titling would depend on the font type and size. Some variations would look good, but others would be better off without.

    ReplyDelete
  12. It's awesome, though I think it'd look better on a "Mist-blue" background. Mistborn would be more than enough, so as if not to draw attention from the awesomness that is this t-shirt.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I think white or gray for shirt color. As for the design, my only reservation is the clouds. I would prefer clearly defined edges, as opposed to the gradient everywhere. Titled simply: Mistborn.

    ReplyDelete
  14. 1- Do you like it?
2- Do you like the design on blue? Any other color suggestion?
3- Do you want it to say "Mistborn", "Alloy of Law", nothing, or something else?
    ----------------------------------------------
    1- Yes.
2- Blue, most definitely. White, grey or any color that goes well with the blue arcing.
3- Just Alloy of Law. Powerful and short.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Love it, I think it might look good on blue, and I think Mistborn would be best. If these are made I will get one.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think it looks great! The thing about blue is that those bluish clouds might not show up so well. I think grey would be the best color for the background. Either Mistborn or Alloy of Law could look good, depending on font and placement.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Dark blue, black or gray. And for sure have Alloy of Law.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I do like the image, but I have a couple questions: 1) is that one of the non-metal guns, or should there be a blue line to that too? 2) the figure seems to be floating. Should he be grounded, or is he descending as described when using feruchemy to reduce his weight? I like the grey background it is presented on here. I would buy that color shirt. As far as text goes, I would prefer something more "inside" like a one line quote or something referring to the roughs

    ReplyDelete
  19. Don't have any writing on it, and as long as it's not on a black background, go for it.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I like it, but it could use a little pink. Or purple :-)

    ReplyDelete
  21. Dark blue, black or gray. I'd definitely include the Alloy of Law.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I like it. I would like gray or blue. Having it say Alloy of Law would be best.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I like it, though on a background of grey or black would look superb. I would prefer no text

    ReplyDelete
  24. I like it ~ I think a grey background or dark blue. It should say Mistborn: Alloy of Law

    ReplyDelete
  25. Love it, any dark color will work I think, I think no wording works best, that graphic is bad ass on its own

    ReplyDelete
  26. 1. I like it! I'm curious to see how the misty stuff will look printed.
    2. Dark blue, gray, or something like the background it's on now.
    3. "Alloy of Law" or even just "ALLOY." Nothing too distracting.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I love the design but I'd add "Alloy of Law" on it. Other than that looks beautiful!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Q: Do you like it?

~~ A: Not really. It doesn't feel like Mistborn to me. The lightning is just out of place. Mistborn always had straight blue lines, and as Jta068 said, it also needs one to the gun. Also also, what does he have in his other hand?

Q: Do you like the design on blue? Any other color suggestion?

    ~~ A: Black.

Q: Do you want it to say "Mistborn", "Alloy of Law", nothing, or something else?

~~ A: Again I'm going to go with Jta068, something more in character or in context would be better. You could possibly add "Mistborn: The Alloy Of Law" in two lines on the back, or just "The Alloy Of Law" (on the back), but if you put any wording on the front it should be something in character.

    ReplyDelete
  29. The diagonal banding on the mist is distracting, I would smooth that up to give it a more smokey feel. Also I would darken it up a shade or two, seems a little bright and cartoony. No text on front, if possible put it on back.

    ReplyDelete
  30. 1- Do you like it?

    Yes. I'll take 2.

2- Do you like the design on blue? Any other color suggestion?

It depends on what shade of blue. Darker blue, yes. Lighter blue, no. I'd say dark green, greys, or blacks.

3- Do you want it to say "Mistborn", "Alloy of Law", nothing, or something else?

I'd say do Mistborn: Allow of Law underneath it, or on the back.

    Cool design.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 1) Love it.
    2) Blue is fine by me. Grey might work too.
    3) I would say either nothing, or if it says something to have it on the back of the shirt. I would like the image itself to just be a stand alone splash of awesome without branding getting in the way of the image.

    ReplyDelete
  32. 1)I have not read any excerpts from the book but the design looks nice.
2)Maybe grey or green smoke and blue lightning
3)I personally would rather have the wording on the back and probably just "Mistborn"

    ReplyDelete
  33. This is very cool. The blue looks ok but I think it'd be good maybe on black or maybe a dark gray. I would like it just to say "Mistborn"

    ReplyDelete
  34. 1- I do like it, but I didn't think the blue lines would be ziz zag.
2- The design on a dark gray just seems appropriate for the novels, a type of salute to Vin.
3- It would be awesome if it just said "Mistborn" but not too big, and perhaps on the sleeve? Writing on the sleeve always intrigues me. That way it gets people's attention and makes them want to read the novel or at the very least look it up, which is the point right? So perhaps, "Mistborn" on one sleeve, and "Alloy of Law" on the other sleeve.

    ReplyDelete
  35. 1. I like the design, I think the art-style is great in conjunction with Sanderson's sometimes-serious sometimes-joking prose.

    2. You might consider making the shirt the exact same shade as the mist, that would give a nice mysterious air to the figure as though he were blending into the background and hiding in the mists. Black is also always popular with nerds like myself.

    3. "Mistborn" or "Allow of Law" would be awesome on the back or on the top front near the shoulder or down the outside of the sleeve, but underneath the character you might want to include an iconic quote. Or maybe just a line that's indicative of the Mistborn setting. The one I always liked from Final Empire was "There's always another secret." but I'm sure you can come up with something more specific to the character. A quote would also work along the back of the shoulders if it's too long or bulky to fit on with the art.

    ReplyDelete
  36. 1. big fan, i love it.
    2. blue is cool, but i'd love to see it one a grey one so the blue really pops out.
    3. "alloy of law" either underneath or on the back would do nicely.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I think the lightning bolt coming out of his hand is really cool, but doesn't relate to the Mistborn series. Either, as other commentators have mentioned, have straight blue lines to the bullet (I assume this is one of the aluminum guns), or don't have the blue at all.

I like the mist and the mist cloak (is that what the tassels are alluding to?) design a lot, however.

I think the design on a blue shirt would be too much blue. Perhaps a dark navy, but I think a gray background (like the current background on the image) works very well with the image. It compliments the blue mist and creates this feeling of haziness.

I think it would be very nice if the gun, in silver or gold, had ALLOW OF LAW imprinted on its side. The title should definitely be on the shirt, but not in a large, garish way. I was thinking Brandon Sanderson's initials could be imprinted on the bullet, but then I realized they were B.S., so....probably don't do that.

Another option is, at the bottom of the image, for the mist to curl into either Brandon Sanderson, or Mistborn. I would put my vote in for Mistborn. Again, not in an obvious manner, but in such a way that one, in a second glance, would be able to recognize it. Subtly is the key here.

    ReplyDelete
  38. 1. Yes
    2. Blue is good if it's an almost grey blue like the picture!
    3. I would like something like a little "Mistborn" and a much bigger "Alloy of Law" below it
    :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. 1- Yes
2- I think blue would be good. That or grey.
3- At least Mistborn, perhaps also Alloy of Law. And I think it might be nice to have the Scadrian (don't know if that's the right demonym) letters for iron and steel (or at least steel), as are in the metals table.

    ReplyDelete
  40. While the lightning effect looks neat, unless there is something new in Alloy of Law, that is not how I pictured the lines allomancers visualized.

It doesn't standout much on that color, but maybe that is what you are after.

As to text, I would say keep it off, but if you want to keep it small, subtle, and unobtrusive.

    ReplyDelete
  41. 1. Yes
    2. Blue is good.
    3. Alloy of law printed would be best I think

    ReplyDelete
  42. I like it, maybe on a dark grey, it should say alloy of law.

    ReplyDelete
  43. 1. Its awesome!
    2. Gray or white would be best. I think Blue would make all the smoke seem bland or hard to make out. (think like wearing green on a greenscreen test)
    3. Id go with Mistborn on the back and Alloy Of law on the front.

    ReplyDelete
  44. 1- Very much!
2- The dark grey it's on now is actually rather nice.
3- Between "Mistborn" and "Alloy of Law", I'd choose the latter, but a quote from the book might be best (though, of course, I can't be more specific until I read it!).

    ReplyDelete
  45. 1. I love it!
    2. I prefer gray, but blue would work.
    3. I think it should say something, and I would lean toward including both "Mistborn" and "Allow of Law" somehow. Maybe as others have suggested, one on front and on one back, if that's even possible.

    ReplyDelete
  46. 1) I like the design, though it feels a little unfocused--the mist towards his feet is attracting too much attention.
2)I like the design on the color it's on currently, not sure about blue. Though maybe a really dark navy blue would work.
    3) I wouldn't incorporate the title into the image. For me, it would just distract from the image itself. If printing the title on the back of the shirt is an option, I'd go with that instead.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Love it, dark blue would be nice to and say nothing else

    ReplyDelete
  48. I like it!

I would prefer it greyish, but blue looks good too.

Maybe Alloy of Law in fading letters, if not, then nothing at all.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Really do like it and would prefer it if it was simply Alloy of Law or just Mistborn. Feel for one or the other, preferably Alloy of Law.

    ReplyDelete
  50. 1. Yes! I think this design looks totally awesome
    2. It would look good on a grey or blue t shirt
    3. I agree with a lot of people that it should say "Mistborn" and "Alloy of Law." Perhaps Mistborn above the image and Alloy of Law below it.

    Again, really awesome shirt

    ReplyDelete
  51. 1. Awesome art - love it!
    2. Looks great on the gray/blue color, might also look good on some kind of a parchment light tan color.
    3. I think it should say Mistborn: Alloy of Law, but in relatively small font. No need to detract from the pretty picture. :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Love it!!!!
Could try red, or even just grey
Could at something, but something cool. . . Like the alloy of law is back, or something random

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm lukewarm about it. Why is the character shooting something with what looks gun-like?

    ReplyDelete
  54. 1. love it

    2. I think it would look good on black and maybe white, in addition to the blue

    3. It should definitely say Mistborn: Alloy of Law, perhaps spelled out in the mist

    ReplyDelete
  55. Love it. I like the idea of a blue background and the Mistborn title as long as its not some boring standard font.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I think it is awesome just like it is. On a blue or gray background and with no wording at all, just the image.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I love it, but I think that it's a bit busy. I want a shirt someone can see for a moment and say, "Hey! that's Allow of Law!" without having to study it to figure out what they're seeing.

White would be an awesome alternate color.

"Mistborn: Allow of Law" somewhere. somehow.

    ReplyDelete
  58. This design is fantastic. I wouldn't mind wording on this, Mistborn would be best, or no text. Blue or white, please.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Love it, good colors shown.
I think it would look nice if it said:

    Born of Mist....

    (Artwork)

    ... Alloy of Law

    ReplyDelete
  60. 1- Its pretty nice. I agree with others that the lighting effect is odd but neat, less lighting-ly maybe. Perhaps just another gun in his other hand instead and a few extra blue lines going off frame. I'd like the mists white or silver though.

2- Blue or grey, perhaps even sand/tan.

3- "Mistborn" on the front bottom and "Alloy of Law" on the back.

This made me think of the Matrix and so personally I'd like something like "Lurch This" in small print but that's me.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Man, that is SWEET.

I think it shpuld be just like that, but on the back say Alloy of Law in a funky font.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I like it. I would put it on gray. The gray would really make the blues pop out. I would also have it say Mistborn: Alloy of Law.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I think it looks perfect just the way it is.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Sweet design! Love the action pose. I agree with a few people that suggest putting Mistborn on the back and Alloy of Law on the front in a nice steampunk font. Or both on the front with mist curling around the text. As for background, I think the current color is good or a dark blue.
But the main thing that caught my eye was the gun. Ii think it just looks too modern because of the black gunmetal color and the design. I'd make it a brassy color with a revolver design to be true to the AoL setting. And it would be cool to see the hat a little clearer to add to the western feel. Can't wait to see the finished design!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Awesome. Just awesome. I like the colors, but I think there are other base colors that would work just as well (the picture looks gray to me, and I think blue or black would be great). Identifying it as Alloy of Law would be good, but it would take away from the picture, making it too busy. If there will be a label, have it be on the back. I favor "Alloy of Law" over "Mistborn".

    ReplyDelete
  66. I like it! Blue or charcoal would make a great background. And definitely alloy of law.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I like it, I prefer grayish, and I think just Mistborn would be fine.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I love it as is and would prefer it without text.

    ReplyDelete
  69. 1. I don't "like" it, I love it!
    2. Blue would be great but I like it the way it is.
    3. I think it should say "Mistborn"

    ReplyDelete
  70. I like it. I'd rather it just say "mistborn", or nothing at all. Once Alloy of Law has been out for a while, if it comes up in conversation, it won't just be about the one book. It would be about a continuing series, and I think that would be encouraging for readers to want to get into, as there's more to look forward to. Mistborn legend! :D

    ReplyDelete
  71. 1. I didnt like the blue lightning look at first but then I remembered the blue lines when allomancer pushed and thought it was cool.
    2. A brassy copper color would be cool, it would really accent the blue I think.
3.Mistborn on top, Alloy of law on the bottom.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Great looking design. I think a navy blue background would be best. I wasn't to high in the blue must around him, but it us growing on me now. I like the idea if having mistborn on there, but it really comes down to the design. Just make the text classy looking. Gest job though!

    ReplyDelete
  73. 1. I am liking the design a lot, although something a LITTLE more realistic (as opposed to cartoon-y) would have been even better.

    2. Blue is absolutely fantastic. Since Allomantic lines are blue, this is not only cool-looking, but accurate as well.

    3. I think I would go for some cool quote from Wax as the motto of the T-shirt. It will have to be very short and powerful, and I can't think of anything off the top of my head right now, but there ought to be something :)

    ReplyDelete
  74. 1) Looks awesome
    2) I think it looks best on a black or dark gray background. A blue background would interfere and detract from the blue lightning and blue clouds in the graphic.
    3) No words around the graphic works best IMO. Maybe write "Mistborn" on the back in small letters near the neckline, with "Alloy of Law" below that (assuming the graphic is on the front of the shirt).

    ReplyDelete
  75. 1. It's a little too cartoon like
    2. I'd have it say mistborn in the mists itself in an inconspicuous way
    3. I think it would be better in black.

    ReplyDelete
  76. 1- Love it
2- A blue background seems like it wouldn't work with the blue in the design. I'd sooner go with an ash/dark gray or red/maroon.
    3- Nothing at all, baby.

    ReplyDelete
  77. 1 - Its great!

2 - a really dark blue background might work. but maybe the lightning should be surrounded by a lighter outline that is bluish white

3 - i think it should say alloy of law

    ReplyDelete
  78. Ooh, love this, very stylized. I might try making the gray a little darker.

    ReplyDelete
  79. 1) It's fine. A bit chaotic but fine.
    2) Definitely, black. Or very dark blue...
    3) "Mistborn" should be fine.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I like the design a lot. The colors here work. I think that gray and dark blue would work as well. I would also leave the title off; keeps it simple.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I think the blue is a must, there are too many white and black t-shirts out there. I think a famous quote from the book on the t-shirt would be awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  82. 1. I do like it.

    2. I like the blue for the mist but like a 1880s city half built in the background would be awesome.

3.It should Say Mistborn on top and Alloy of Law on the bottom.

    ReplyDelete
  83. 1. I don't really like it. As others have stated, the blue lightening and other effects have nothing to do with Mistborn at all.

    2. I think I'd like it on brown, sand or some other color that evokes a "Western" vibe.

    3. I would prefer to have it say "Alloy of Law". I just really like the title. I don't think it requires Mistborn or anything else other than that.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Wow, there are some really great comments here.

    1. I do like the shirt, but I agree that some revisions could make it even better. If you turn the lightning-looking blue lines into straighter or arcing lines, it will have more of the mistborn feel. Also, his head looks a little stooped, and if this is supposed to be the character Wax, I imagine his stance to be a little bit more confident looking than that. I really like the mistcloak and the mist curling around him.

    2. I think that either a grey or blue color would work well. Someone else mentioned brown, and I think that could work too. I don't care so much for black shirts. Not because they don't look cool, but I feel like so many "fan" shirts come in black, and being able to have some variety would be nice - especially since I feel this shirt design would look good on grey or blue.

    3. I like the idea of having the mist below curl into the word "Mistborn." And I definitely like the idea of having "Alloy of Law" printed on the back. However, I think it would be even better if the print were either in the curling shape of mist or in some sort of "steampunk" font (not really sure what that would be, but I don't like the idea of just plain font for something like this).

Overall, I feel that this shirt has great potential! I love that it has color and is (hopefully) going to be printed on something other than black. Nice job! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  85. I like the design a lot. Personally, I'd leave it as just the image.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Looks great! I like the shirt in blue but I wouldn't want any text on it.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Yes, the art work is fantastic. Though there are a few things you might want to consider if this is going to be screen print shirt. First, things like mist or clouds, when screen printed often lose their fine detail, especially after a few washings. Second, as with mist and clouds, the lighting will likely start to lose its’ detail after a few washings (as has happened with two of my DBZ t-shirts.) So I would recommend making the lines of lightning more defined. Third, images that are placed on a screen printed solid color have a tendency to crack after a few washings. The best option would be to make t-shirt a dark blue, thereby allowing t-shirt to serve as the background.

There are a few fun things you could do with the wording, like having “Alloy of Law” in one of the funkier fonts below the picture in front. You could even write some small snippet of intriguing information about Mistborn on the back. My attention has often caught by shirts that have something captivating written on them. I’ve even stopped mid run to finish reading some and on occasion I’ve even gotten the courage to stop the wearer to find out more.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I'd wear it. I think gray is better than blue, and I think no text is better than text. Like other people have said, if you have to put text on it, make the text small enough that it doesn't draw the focus from the design.

    ReplyDelete
  89. 1- I really do like it, I think it's pretty awesome.
2- I think the design would be best on gray.
3- I think if it said nothing, it would force people to ask about it :)
But I'd really dig it if it said "Alloy of Law" on it in small/medium sized print.

    ReplyDelete
  90. 1. Love the design
    2. I think the design would do well with a grey, but perhaps a darker blue would do.
    3. I think nothing written on it would work, I wouldn't want words distracting from the design.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Cool design. I like it on gray. "Mistborn" or "Alloy of Law" formed along the bottom of design, blending in with the mist, so it is a hint of the words, but not bold enough to distract from the design.

    ReplyDelete
  92. 1) It is awesome
    2) Blue is a good color for it
    3) I like having "mistborn" with it, maybe under the design. If the whole thing was placed on top of smattering of random allomantic symbols that would be cool to

    ReplyDelete
  93. 1. No, it just looks goofy.
    2. Blue is probably best.
    3. "Alloy of Law," but it's got to say something because it doesn't make sense otherwise.

    ReplyDelete
  94. My preference: Don't print it as a block picture. Blend it in seemlessly if possible.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I think it's awesome, blue would be fine, Alloy of Law

    ReplyDelete
  96. I like it. I think it would be way cooler in black, and I think it should say "Alloy of Law" on the front "Mistborn" on the back.

    ReplyDelete
  97. The shirt is awesome. I think it would be fine in gray, and I think it should have the "Mistborn: Alloy of Law" on the back if anything.

    ReplyDelete
  98. I can't really make out the person very well. OH wait now that I take a closer look...ah I see. I really like it! I love the lightning it's a really neat design along with the gun. Very well done. I think it should say something about Mistborn on it. Something like: Mistborn, back in action. LOL! Or just something simple like Alloy of law.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I like it a lot as it is, but I agree with some others that have commented, the mist should be a different color than the lightning, just for the added contrast so that the blue really "POPS"... LOL.. Oh, and on the back could be 'Mistborn' just around the shoulder blades with 'Alloy of Law' just below that.. IMHO

    ReplyDelete
  100. 1 Yes, it looks great. 2 The colour is good it goes well with the blue arcing. 3 I don't think it should say anything

    ReplyDelete
  101. I like the grey background and agree with what someone else said about it have a line from the book instead of just a title.

  102. I like the design. I think it should say either Alloy of Law or a quote from Wax with his name quoted.

  104. Hi. Not bad at all. The colours are ok, but I would recommend a hat in Humphrey Bogart style :P

As a motto I would put both Alloy of Law and the text on the UK-cover: There is always another secret (with small font size).

  105. It looks good. I like the design but I'd keep the background gray. The mists should be a different color it looks too much like gunpowder, unless that's what you're going for then it's perfect! On the back it would be nice to see the whole title, "Mistborn: Alloy of Law".

  106. I like the idea of doing it on Blue

  107. I heart the design.

I think it would look on gray, like the mists, or black, like the night.

And I would have it say Mistborn: Alloy of Law.
